Our Story
We named this place after our mother — and her dream of sharing Vietnamese cooking with as many people as she could. Every good meal starts with someone who cares enough to make it right. For us, that's always been her, and every dish on our menu carries her story.
Chào means hello. Mámì is our mom — the woman who feeds you like her own. Together, they're us: Chào Mámì, her warm hello at the family table. (You might have known us as Brokenrice — same family, same kitchen, new name.)
You'll find us in the heart of Burnaby Heights — the original kitchen, the mural on the wall, and the broth that simmers all day before it ever meets your bowl. Everything's made fresh, in house, with the same care she brought to her own table: signature pho, wok-tossed shaken beef, real Dungeness crab noodle soup, sizzling bánh xèo, and Vietnamese coffee to finish. And because nobody should leave hungry, there's $10 pho every afternoon and $10 lunches three days a week.
Come for lunch, stay for dinner, or pull up a chair for happy hour. Either way, you'll get the same thing from us — real food, a warm welcome, and a seat at the family table. And if you're downtown, our little sibling Chào Mámì Express keeps the same promise on the go.
